Approval Requests
Use the Approval requests feature to stay on top of the topic creation for your organization.
Kafka topic requests
- From the Header bar menu, go to Admin panel.
- On the side navigation, select Requests under the Audits section.

Creating a new topic request
Request Topic permission has been added to the list of available namespace permissions for Kafka. Users who are granted this permission can now request a topic creation, providing the system administrator with useful information for the requested topic.
The Topic Request happens from the Topic Lists screen.

In the example above, the user requests a topic with a specific set of configurations. Now it’s up to the administrator to accept or reject the request.
Managing a request
Anyone with View Approval Requests permission will be notified when new requests arrive.

A request can either be approved or rejected.

- If the request is approved, the Kafka topic is created with the configurations set by the requester
- When rejecting a request, the reviewer is prompted to give a reason.
